Background: The pathogenesis of intestinal dysmotility in gastroschisis is not completely understood. Peel formation and disorganization of interstitial Cajal cells (ICC) have been proposed in humans. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of prenatal coverage of gastroschisis on gut inflammation and expression of ICC in a fetal lamb model.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the impact of a simple abdominal wall defect versus a defect including eviscerated intestine or omentum for the development of gastroschisis in a fetal lamb model.
Material And Methods: At mid-gestation (day 77) an abdominal wall defect was fetoscopically created with three different approaches in 19 German blackhead sheep.
Objective: To assess the feasibility of time-resolved parallel three-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for quantitative analysis of pulmonary perfusion using a blood pool contrast agent.
Methods: Quantitative perfusion analysis was performed using novel software to assess pulmonary blood flow (PBF), pulmonary blood volume (PBV) and mean transit time (MTT) in a quantitative manner.
Results: The evaluation of lung perfusion in the normal subjects showed an increase of PBF, PBV ventrally to dorsally (gravitational direction), and the highest values at the upper lobe, with a decrease to the middle and lower lobe (isogravitational direction).
Objective: Agreement rate between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and Doppler ultrasound (DUS) for the detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the lower extremities was attempted by using the intravascular MRI contrast agent gadofosveset trisodium. The potential of this method to detect pulmonary embolism (PE) was also evaluated.
Material And Methods: Forty-three consecutive inpatients with ultrasound-confirmed DVT but no clinical signs of PE were prospectively enrolled in this feasibility study.
Background: Liposarcomas are classified into four subtypes, with different malignancy potential and characteristic imaging appearances. Well-differentiated liposarcomas have imaging characteristics similar to those of benign lipomas, however they can be usually distinguished from lipomas because of the larger size and broader fibrous septa, with a more nodular appearance.
Case Presentation: This paper presents a case of atypical lipoma (well-differentiated liposarcoma) of the pelvis, leading to partial involvement of the sciatic nerve.
Background And Objective: Minimal invasive local treatment of joints is a desirable option in the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of photodynamic treatment (PDT) with different doses of the photosensitizer meta-tetra(hydroxyphenyl)chlorin (m-THPC; or temoporfin) in a murine model of RA (antigen-induced arthritis, AIA). METHODS IN VIVO DISTRIBUTION: The distribution of native and liposomal m-THPC (including a formulation with polyethylene glycol [PEG] coating) was assessed by fluorescence spectrometry in arthritic joints, normal joints, and skin.

Patients And Methods: From 4,754 patients registered in the database of the German Hodgkin Study Group from 1988 to 1999, 624 patients were identified with progressive disease (n = 202), or with early (n = 170) or late (n = 252) relapsed HD. At first treatment failure, SRT alone was given to 100 patients.
