- Male Wistar rats were divided into groups receiving a standard diet or a PUFA-rich diet, with some groups containing omega-3 PUFAs, and were subjected to liver ischemia tests.
- Results showed that the PUFA-rich diet led to significant reductions in liver damage markers, steatosis, and inflammatory cytokines after reperfusion, suggesting a protective preconditioning effect of the diet against I/R injury in the liver.
