Concomitant counts of unlabeled neutrophils were similar in pulmonary artery and aortic blood samples, demonstrating a dynamic balance across the lungs in the physiological state. Outflow profiles of labeled neutrophils were analyzed on the basis of a recirculatory pharmacokinetic model of labeled albumin.
