Purpose: The Achilles tendon is a common injury site, but anatomical risk factors for injury are relatively unexplored in the literature. This study aimed to evaluate whether changes in free tendon length would influence the results of a simulated rupture of the Achilles tendon.
Methods: Using a previously validated 3D finite element model of the free and aponeurotic Achilles tendon as a basis, two additional finite element models with 25% decreased and increased free tendon lengths were created.

Purpose: Current options for treating an Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) include conservative and surgical approaches. Endoscopic flexor hallucis longus (FHL) transfer has been recently proposed to treat acute ruptures, but its cost-effectiveness potential remains to be evaluated. Purpose: To report the case and multimodal imaging findings of a healthy young woman who developed paracentral acute middle maculopathy 9 weeks after COVID-19.
Methods: Case report. Ultra-widefield fundus photography, macular spectral domain optical coherence tomography, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography angiography were performed.
The main objective of this study was to evaluate strain CMRP 4490 regarding its ability to inhibit soil-borne plant pathogens and to increase plant growth. The study included evaluation of antifungal control, sequencing the bacterial genome, mining genes responsible for the synthesis of secondary metabolites, root colonization ability, and greenhouse studies for the assessment of plant growth-promoting ability. The strain was obtained from soil samples in the north of Paraná in Brazil and was classified as a , which is considered a promising biological control agent.
