Questionnaire on Treatment Satisfaction in Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (FBZ-KJP) - Results of a Swiss Pilot Study Patient satisfaction is an established indicator for medical interventions. Existing questionnaires for the assessment of patient satisfaction in child and adolescent psychiatry are too global to target quality improvement in child and adolescent psychiatric hospitals. The assessment of patient satisfaction in child and adolescent psychiatry is very challenging because specific demands (development status, role of parents in treatment) have been taken into account.

This article deals with refusal to attend school and dropping out of school from the point of view of child and adolescent psychiatry and psychology, in German speaking countries and from the perspective of Swiss schools and their administrative bodies. General epidemiological data on refusal to attend school show that approximately 5% of children and adolescents are likely to try to avoid attending school at some point. There is very little data available on the frequency of school drop-out.

The involvement of non-resident fathers with their child was analysed by use of a questionnaire in a sample of 74 divorced or separated families living in the city of Ziurich, Switzerland. Fathers, mothers, and one child separately rated the involvement of the father. The three perspectives were compared and showed significant differences in the dimensions of educational responsibility, cognitive and social support, and the quality of the emotional relationship.

The present contribution presents psychometric findings of a newly developed questionnaire on paternal engagement after parental separation based on a sample of 225 separated or divorced fathers living in the German part of Switzerland.
