Background/aim: The aim of this study was to describe and evaluate the patterns, perioperative outcomes, and survival rates of patients subjected to hepatic resections for ovarian-derived liver metastasis as part of cytoreductive surgery with or without hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). Furthermore, we investigated two subgroups of tumor patterns: hematogenous liver metastasis and infiltrative liver metastatic spread.

Article Synopsis
  • - Cancer immunity significantly impacts ovarian cancer outcomes, yet the precise mechanisms remain under-researched.
  • - A study involving 57 advanced ovarian cancer patients revealed that higher counts of CD4 and CD45 immune cells in tumors correlate with longer overall survival (OS).
  • - Analysis also identified 23 important genes linked to immune activity and survival, highlighting the relationship between immune cell presence and gene expression patterns in predicting patient prognosis.
