Article Synopsis
  • Breast cancer is the most prevalent malignant tumor in women, and traditional research models struggle due to the diversity among cancer cells.
  • To overcome these limitations, breast cancer organoid technology has been developed, utilizing 3D culture to create tissue analogs that closely resemble human tumors.
  • This innovative approach preserves the original tumor's characteristics and aids in drug screening, understanding tumor development, and advancing personalized treatment options for patients.

Background: Previous studies have shown that the addition of platinum to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) improved outcomes for patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, no studies have assessed the efficacy and safety of the combination of taxane and lobaplatin. In this study, we conducted a randomized controlled phase II clinical study to compare the efficacy and safety of taxane combined with lobaplatin or anthracycline.

Tumor is a local tissue hyperplasia resulted from cancerous transformation of normal cells under the action of various physical, chemical and biological factors. The exploration of tumorigenesis mechanism is crucial for early prevention and treatment of tumors. Epigenetic modification is a common and important modification in cells, including DNA methylation, histone modification, non-coding RNA modification and m6A modification.

Background: Anlotinib is a new type of tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptors 1/2/3, platelet-derived growth factor receptors α/β, and fibroblast growth factor receptors 1-4 and c-Kit, with a broad spectrum of inhibitory effects on tumor angiogenesis and growth. It has been proven effective in HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer, but its efficacy in early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is unknown. This phase 2 study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adding anlotinib to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with TNBC.

Background: Our previous work indicated that the addition of lobaplatin to combined therapy with taxane and anthracycline can improve the pathological complete response rate of neoadjuvant therapy for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and lengthen long-term survival significantly, but the therapeutic markers of this regimen are unclear.

Methods: Eighty-three patients who met the inclusion criteria were included in this post hoc analysis. We analyzed the association between platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) before neoadjuvant chemotherapy with the efficacy and prognosis after treatment with docetaxel, epirubicin, and lobaplatin neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimen.

Background: Early diagnosis of breast cancer has always been a difficult clinical challenge. We developed a deep-learning model EDL-BC to discriminate early breast cancer with ultrasound (US) benign findings. This study aimed to investigate how the EDL-BC model could help radiologists improve the detection rate of early breast cancer while reducing misdiagnosis.

The breast cancer susceptibility gene (BRCA) is an important tumor suppressor gene, including BRCA1 and BRCA2, a biomarker that assesses the risk of breast cancer and influences a patient's individualized treatment options. BRCA1/2 mutation (BRCAm) increases the risk of breast cancer. However, breast-conserving surgery is still an option for BRCAm, and prophylactic mastectomy and nipple-sparing mastectomy may also reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide. Advanced BC with brain metastasis (BM) is a major cause of mortality with no specific or effective treatment. Therefore, better knowledge of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying breast cancer brain metastasis (BCBM) is crucial for developing novel therapeutic strategies and improving clinical outcomes.

Importance: Minimal access breast surgery (MABS) has been used in breast cancer management. However, long-term prognostic data associated with MABS vs conventional breast surgery (CBS) are lacking.

Objective: To investigate long-term therapeutic outcomes associated with MABS vs CBS for breast cancer management.

Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women, and there is evidence for the dual role of cell pyroptosis in tumor development. However, little is known about the relationship between cell pyroptosis and breast cancer and its prognostic value. We aimed to construct a prognostic model using cell-pyroptosis-related genes to provide innovative insights into the prognosis and treatment of breast cancer.
