Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the cross section of the inclusive process e^{+}e^{-}→η+X, normalized by the total cross section of e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons, is measured at eight center-of-mass energy points from 2.0000 to 3.6710 GeV.

We perform the first simultaneous global QCD extraction of the transverse momentum dependent (TMD) parton distribution functions and the TMD fragmentation functions in nuclei. We have considered the world set of data from semi-inclusive electron-nucleus deep inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan dilepton production. In total, this data set consists of 90 data points from HERMES, Fermilab, RHIC, and LHC.

The use of lateral mass atlas screws is an important technique to achieve fusion and stability at the craniocervical region affected by different pathologies (degenerative, traumatic, inflammatory, neoplastic, or congenital). This paper describes the anatomy and techniques necessary for proper insertion of posterior C1 lateral mass screws, using anatomic dissection and intraoperative pictures. Knowledge of the anatomy and the surgical technique of insertion of C1 lateral mass screws are of paramount importance to have good surgical results.

After the poorly planned evacuation for Hurricane Rita in 2005, many health care systems in the Houston area updated the disaster plans they would implement in the event of a major disaster. In September 2008, Texas health care systems in the Houston-Galveston area had the opportunity to execute those plans when Hurricane Ike made landfall. Despite hours of hurricane preparation at the Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston, TX, before the storm, we found that there were still lessons to be learned from Hurricane Ike that can be used by other health care systems to prepare for disaster.

Home blood glucose monitoring has been introduced as a means to achieve good control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Many patients use color-reagent strips and color comparisons to determine blood glucose levels. Intact color vision in the blue-yellow range is necessary for accurately interpreting these strips.
