Assessment of Noise Levels of Equipment Used in the Practical Dental Teaching Activities.

Introduction: Practical activities in dentistry are characterized by a high noise level that can have adverse effects on the hearing health of professors, students, and teaching staff. The objective of our study was to make an assessment of the noise level during the practical fixed prosthodontics activities in the Faculty of Dentistry of Casablanca.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study to measure the noise level in the practical room of fixed prosthodontics.

Vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO): cephalometric norms for a Moroccan population.

Objectives: The purpose of this work was to develop cephalometric standards of the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) in Moroccan adults.

Methods: Our data consisted of standardized lateral cephalometric radiographs of 98 students at the Casablanca Faculty of Dentistry. These included 74 women and 24 men aged 18-34 years, who were selected on the basis of a well-proportioned face, acceptable profile, Class I occlusion, minor or no crowding, and no history of orthodontic treatment.

Unusual presentation of isolated metacarpal tuberculosis.

Metacarpal tuberculosis is a rare presentation of the disease; it represents only 1% of all bone sites. The following report documents the case of a 28-year-old female who sought a consultation for a painful right hand following an injury. Radiographs showed a fracture of the distal fifth metacarpal through a lytic lesion.
