Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate carbonated hydroxyapatite (CHA)'s ability for mineral induction and its cytotoxicity with human dental pulp cells.

Materials And Methods: Precursors for the study include di-ammonium hydrogen phosphate and calcium nitrate tetrahydrate, with sodium hydrogen carbonate added to achieve different levels of carbonate substitution. The synthesized CHA samples are characterized using X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.

This study aimed to clinically evaluate the survivability of surgically extruded teeth, to assess the success rate and predictable factors pertaining to alterations in both hard and soft tissues adjacent to extruded teeth. A total of 46 complicated crown-root fractured maxillary central and lateral incisors with >75% tooth structure loss relatively due to trauma were included. Preoperative clinical and radiographic variables were recorded.

Aim: This clinical trial aimed to compare the clinical success of coronal pulpotomy and indirect pulp capping (IPC) in managing symptomatic deep proximal caries in molars with moderate pulpitis over a 12-month period.

Materials And Methods: A total of 108 vital mature permanent molars with moderate pulpitis were randomly allocated to the IPC ( = 54) or coronal pulpotomy group ( = 54). Dycal and Biodentine were used as pulp-capping materials, followed by composite restoration.

Introduction: A special heat-treated endodontic file (TruNatomy) was recently introduced with the claim of superior flexibility to enhance dentin preservation. The aim of the present study was to assess postoperative pain in single-visit root canal treatment with this newly introduced file, comparing it with other contemporary reciprocating and rotary file systems.

Materials And Methods: One hundred seventy patients with acute irreversible pulpitis in maxillary premolars were randomly assigned to four experimental file systems: TruNatomy, HyFlex EDM, EdgeFile, and ProTaper Gold.

The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical performance of nanofilled composite resin restorations in traumatized, endodontically treated maxillary incisors with structural loss of 40% or less. The performance of the restorations was assessed in terms of longevity (survival) and esthetics (success) over a 20-month period. The secondary objective was to employ a novel digital method to quantify preoperative tooth structure loss.

Introduction: Pulp stones are the discrete calcification, located in pulp tissue or attached to or embedded in dentin. It occurs in physiological and pathological conditions. The exact etiopathogenesis of various types of pulp calcifications is unknown and the prevalence varies from 8% to 90%.

Introduction: The identification of C-shaped root canal anatomy on radiographic images affects clinical decision making and treatment. The aims of this study were to develop a deep learning (DL) model to classify C-shaped canal anatomy in mandibular second molars from cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) volumes and to compare the performance of 3 different architectures.

Methods: U-Net, residual U-Net, and Xception U-Net architectures were used for image segmentation and classification of C-shaped anatomies.

Objectives: The primary objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness in reducing dentin hypersensitivity in noncarious cervical lesions (NCCLs) by home-based desensitizing toothpaste (TP), in-office Gluma desensitizer application, and resin-modified glass-ionomer cement (RMGIC) restoration. The secondary objective was to evaluate the long-term outcome of the glass-ionomer cement restoration following the application of bioactive glass-containing desensitizer TP.

Materials And Methods: A total of 73 patients or 151 teeth were included in the study and randomly allotted to one of the four different treatment groups.

Objectives: The dental pulp contains undifferentiated mesenchymal cells, blood vessels and so on, which are responsible for routine functions of a tooth. The determination of stemness and regenerative properties using biomarkers and further application in routine practice may unravel its potential.

Materials And Methods: original research articles published in English, from 2000 to 2019, were collected both manually and by electronic search from databases of Cochrane, Medline, Embase, and PubMed.

Management of symptomatic attrited molar teeth presents various challenges. Aim of the study was to manage and evaluate the outcome of sensitive, attrited molar teeth using three different treatment options, including bioglass-containing desensitising toothpaste, Gluma desensitiser and coronal a pulpotomy using a calcium silicate-based product, Biodentine. A total of 61 attrited molar teeth, for which the patients had expressed tooth sensitivity, were included.

The objective of this prospective study was to assess tooth-related factors that play a role in the incidence of postoperative pain (PP) and determining if procedural errors influence PP occurrence. A total of 442 patients referred for root canal treatment met the inclusion criteria and were included in this prospective study. The same protocol was used in all root canal treatments.

Objectives: This study investigated the influence of glide path size and operating kinetics on the time to reach the working length and the fracture resistance of Twisted File (TF) and Endostar E3 files.

Materials And Methods: A total of 120 mandibular single-rooted premolars were selected. Two methods of kinetic motion (TF adaptive and continuous rotary motion) and file systems (TF and Endostar E3) were employed.

Mandibular molar teeth with acute irreversible pulpitis pose challenges in single visit root canal treatment - (i) success of local anaesthesia and (ii) post-operative pain. One hundred and twenty-six patients with pain associated with carious mandibular molar teeth were enrolled. All patients were administered 10 mg of ketorolac tromethamine prior to local anaesthesia.

Rhabdomyosarcomas with TFCP2 fusions represent an emerging subtype of tumors, initially discovered by RNA-sequencing. We report herein the clinicopathological, transcriptional, and genomic features of a series of 14 cases. Cases were retrospectively and prospectively recruited and studied by immunohistochemistry (MYF4, MYOD1, S100, AE1/E3, ALK), fluorescence in situ hybridization with TFCP2 break-apart probe (n = 10/14), array-comparative genomic hybridization (Agilent), whole RNA-sequencing (Truseq Exome, Illumina), or anchored multiplex PCR-based targeted next-generation sequencing (Archer® FusionPlex® Sarcoma kit).

The aim of this study was to assess the influence of ketorolac tromethamine and dexamethasone on substance P and IL-8 expression when used as a root canal irrigant for single visit root canal treatment for acute irreversible pulpitis. A total of 42 patients with pain due to acute irreversible pulpitis in carious premolar and molar teeth were included in this study. The four irrigation groups were as follows: saline (n = 11), 3% sodium hypochlorite (n = 11), ketorolac tromethamine (n = 10) and dexamethasone (n = 10).

One of the main objectives of root canal treatment is to alleviate the pain associated with irreversibly inflamed pulps. However, some patients may have moderate to severe pain following treatment. The aim of this study was to compare and assess the effect of ketorolac tromethamine on substance P expression in the pulp and periapical tissues when used as a root canal irrigant for single-visit root canal treatment in teeth with irreversible pulpitis.

A 25-year-old male patient presented with swelling and pain in the mandibular anterior region for the previous 6 months. He had a history of repeated traumatic episodes associated with his lower incisors. A periapical radiograph revealed a radiolucent lesion involving the apices of the lower incisors, whereas cone beam computed tomography revealed a large osteolytic lesion involving all mandibular incisors and loss of labial and lingual cortical plates.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate which radicular radiographic features general dentists want to interpret, determine which of the radicular radiographic features general dentists interpret and which ones they miss in a diagnostic radiograph and correlate how accurately general dentists are able to interpret radiographic features.

Methods: 20 general dental practitioners were selected and given 2 sets of questionnaires. The first set asked them to fill out the findings they would elucidate in a diagnostic radiograph while the second set consisted of 30 randomly selected intraoral radiographs to interpret.
