A 30-year-old Hispanic male was admitted to the medicine service for a growing left testicular and pan-abdominal mass. His prior medical and surgical history was unremarkable. CT imaging showed a retroperitoneal and intraperitoneal mass.

Representative and intersectional analyses of individuals' social risks such as food, housing, transportation, and financial insecurity and their interest in receiving assistance from the healthcare system (social needs) can provide healthcare organizations with more nuanced estimates that can lead to more effective interventions.
Methods: The authors conducted cross-sectional survey of a representative sample of 43,936 Kaiser Permanente members in December 2019-September 2020.
Fungal infections are increasingly prevalent; however, antifungal stewardship attracts little funding or attention. Previous studies have shown that knowledge of guidelines and scientific evidence regarding antifungals is poor, leading to prescribing based on personal experiences and the inherent biases this entails. We carried out a retrospective study of inpatient antifungal usage at two major hospitals.

Objective: In this study, we aim to compare the clinical effectiveness and safety of TLE between young and old leads.
Methods: We retrospectively identified all TLE procedures at Emory Healthcare from 2007 to 2023.
Background: While recommending a human papillomavirus (HPV) single-dose vaccination schedule in 2022, the World Health Organization highlighted the need for long-term follow-up studies to monitor waning of protection. We report on vaccine efficacy against HPV infections in 1-, 2-, and 3-dose schedules and protection against cervical precancers at a median follow-up of 12 years postvaccination.
Methods: This randomized multicenter study in India was originally designed to vaccinate unmarried girls aged 10-18 years with either 2 or 3 doses of quadrivalent HPV vaccine.
Background: Limited data are available regarding the anticancer activity of PARP inhibitors (PARPis) in pancreatic cancer with mutations in HRR genes other than and .
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical characteristics and outcomes of 48 patients with advanced pancreatic cancer harboring pathogenic germline and/or somatic HRR mutations who were treated with PARPis.
Results: Thirty patients had germline (g)HRR mutations only, twelve had somatic (s)HRR mutations only, and six had concomitant gHRR and sHRR mutations.
Introduction: To evaluate the cost and efficiency of suture-mediated percutaneous closure (SMC) compared to manual compression (MC) after atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation. SMC has been demonstrated to be efficacious in reducing hemostasis and bedrest times after AF ablation. To date, randomized data comparing the direct and indirect cost between the two techniques have not been described.

In the field of medical Vision-Language Pretraining (VLP), significant efforts have been devoted to deriving text and image features from both clinical reports and associated medical images. However, most existing methods may have overlooked the opportunity in leveraging the inherent hierarchical structure of clinical reports, which are generally split into 'findings' for descriptive content and 'impressions' for conclusive observation. Instead of utilizing this rich, structured format, current medical VLP approaches often simplify the report into either a unified entity or fragmented tokens.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the management and outcome of TV lead-associated SVC syndrome.
Wrist (TB) complex osteomyelitis is rare, with polymicrobial TB osteomyelitis even more uncommon. The authors describe an unusual case of polymicrobial TB wrist osteomyelitis. The case patient presented with a 2.

This study evaluated personalized tumor dose (TD) as a predictor of OS, progression-free survival (PFS), and local duration of response (DOR) in patients with surgically unresectable HCC treated with resin 90 Y radioembolization.
Patients And Methods: This prospective, single-center, single-arm clinical trial (NCT04172714) evaluated the efficacy of scout activity of resin 90 Y versus 99m Tc-MAA for treatment planning.
Acrophialophora is implicated in superficial and invasive infections, especially in immunosuppressed individuals. The present study was undertaken to provide clinical, microbiological, phylogenetic, and antifungal susceptibility testing (AFST) profile of Acrophialophora isolated from India. All the isolates identified as Acrophialophora species at the National Culture Collection for Pathogenic Fungi, Chandigarh, India were revived.

Despite decreasing incidence rates, cervical cancer is the second most common female cancer in India, accounting for 10% of all female cancers. The objective of the study is to estimate the five-year survival of patients with cervical cancer diagnosed between 2012 and 2015 from the PBCRs in India.

Objective: We sought to evaluate sex-based outcomes after S-ICD implantation.
Methods: Patients implanted with an S-ICD at Emory Healthcare between 2010 and 2023 were included in the analysis.

Background: Early guidance recommended a bolus of intravenous heparin at the beginning of leadless pacemaker (LP) implantation procedures. However, due to concern about bleeding complications, more recent practice has tended toward omitting the bolus and only running a continuous heparin infusion through the introducer sheath. The impact of omitting the heparin bolus on procedural outcomes is not clear.

Accurate PCD diagnosis comprises clinical assessment, analysis of cilia and the identification of biallelic variants in one of 50 known PCD-related genes, including HYDIN. HYDIN-related PCD is underdiagnosed due to the presence of a pseudogene, HYDIN2, with 98% sequence homology to HYDIN.
