Effect of intermittency factor on singlet oxygen and PGE formation in azulene-mediated photodynamic therapy: A preliminary study.

In photodynamic therapy, intermittent irradiation modes that incorporate an interval between pulses are believed to decrease the effect of hypoxia by permitting an interval of re-oxygenation. The effect of the irradiation intermittency factor (the ratio of the irradiation pulse time to the total irradiation time) on singlet oxygen formation and inflammatory cytokine production was examined using azulene as a photosensitizer. Effects of difference intermittency factor on singlet oxygen formation and inflammatory cytokine were examined.

Micromagnetic Simulation of 1-FePt-Based Exchange-Coupled-Composite-Bit-Patterned Media with Microwave-Assisted Magnetic Recording at Ultrahigh Areal Density.

In this work, we propose exchange-coupled-composite-bit-patterned media (ECC-BPM) with microwave-assisted magnetic recording (MAMR) to improve the writability of the magnetic media at a 4 Tb/in recording density. The suitable values of the applied microwave field's frequency and the exchange coupling between magnetic dots, , of the proposed media were evaluated. It was found that the magnitude of the switching field, , of the bilayer ECC-BPM is significantly lower than that of a conventional BPM.
