Intrauterine fragmentation of Gyne T380: an uncommon complication.

A case of intrauterine fragmentation of a Gyne T380 intrauterine device (IUD) is described that was detected during removal of the device. Pelvic ultrasound failed to detect the fragment. Subsequently the woman reported spontaneous expulsion of the device.
