- A study aimed to establish normal dimensions for the liver, spleen, and kidneys using ultrasound in healthy Sri Lankan children aged 5-13, as reference standards were previously unavailable.
- Participants were screened and assessed to exclude those with conditions affecting organ size; 332 children (53% girls) were ultimately included in the analysis.
- Results indicated that organ dimensions significantly correlated with body weight and differed by sex, forming percentile graphs for organ length to aid in future assessments.
