Background: The objective of this study was to assess the ability of different detergent and disinfectant combinations to eradicate bacteria in traditional biofilm.
Methods: Enterococcus faecalis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were used to develop biofilm over 8 days. The biofilm on each minimum biofilm eradication concentration peg contained 8 log colony forming units (CFU)/cm of both bacteria.
Objective: to characterize the moments when there is a need for hand hygiene (HH) by employees who work in Material and Sterilization Center (MSC).
Method: we conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study in the MSC of a large hospital, from July to November 2012, in Goiânia, state of Goiás, Brazil. Data obtained through observation of workers, following a previously evaluated and tested checklist.

Context: The endoscopic procedure safety depends on the use of an adequately reprocessed device which quality is related to each of its operational steps.
Objective: To characterize the reprocessing of endoscopes using glutaraldehyde in endoscopy services
Methods: Study was conducted by observing the reprocessing of 60 endoscopes from 20 medical practices of the municipality of Goiânia, GO, central area of Brazil.
Results: This study showed failure in all reprocessing steps.
Aerosol kits are used in treatments of respiratory illnesses and require at least an intermediate level of disinfection for their reuse. The objectives of the study were to verify possible contamination of kits after they were processed as well as to identify the microorganisms that were isolated in them. This transversal experimental study was conducted in the pediatric unit of a hospital in Goiânia, State of Goiás.

Methods: During 2001, 128 nursing professionals from an infectious disease referral hospital in Central Brazil were interviewed and underwent a 2-step tuberculin skin test (TST). Afterwards, individuals with negative TSTs were retested annually to determine the incidence density of TST conversion.
