Aligning values with standards: a comparison of professional values in Continuing Education standards.

Continuing education (CE) aims to help health professionals fulfill their ethical responsibility of maintaining professional competence. This research compares the CE guidelines and standards of 11 health professional organizations in relation to five domains of evolving professional values: ethics, cultural diversity, social justice, interprofessionalism, and self-care. Results showed that ethics received the greatest attention across the CE standards, followed by interprofessionalism and cultural diversity.

Psychosocial treatment for panic disorder: An umbrella review of systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

Background: Panic disorder is a common and disabling psychiatric condition marked by sudden onset of physiological sensations that are appraised as dangerous. A number of studies and reviews have examined the efficacy of psychosocial treatments for PD; however, there is a lack of overarching reports that discuss the strength of evidence for the different psychosocial treatments for PD. This umbrella review provides an overview of systematic reviews and meta-analyses on psychosocial treatments for PD.

Adult pityriasis lichenoides-like mycosis fungoides: a clinical variant of mycosis fungoides.

Background: Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most frequent type of cutaneous T cell lymphoma. Its clinicopathological spectrum is wide, and the resulting diversity makes it difficult to establish a differential diagnosis among pityriasis lichenoides (PL), lymphomatoid papulosis (LyP), and atypical MF.

Objectives: This study describes four patients with longstanding PL-like lesions, in whom clinicopathological correlations contributed towards the establishment of definitive diagnoses of MF.

Palisaded neutrophilic and granulomatous dermatitis associated with ankylosing spondylitis.

Palisaded neutrophilic granulomatous dermatitis (PNGD) is a rare neutrophilic dermatosis that shows a broad clinical and histopathological spectrum. The clinical presentation of PNGD varies from asymptomatic papules, to nodules, to annular plaques. The most common clinical presentation is erythematous papules on the extensor surface of extremities, especially fingers and elbows.
