Introduction: Hemodialysis (HD) is associated with high risk for cardiovascular diseases including acute myocardial infarction, stroke and congestive heart failure. C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 2 (CCL2), also known monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) can be produced by a variety of cells, reaching increased levels in dyslipidemic chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing HD treatment.
