Introduction: The prevalence of Fibromyalgia in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is significantly higher compared to the general population. Despite this frequent association, Fibromyalgia remains underdiagnosed and consequently inadequately treated, negatively affecting the quality of life of these patients.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the occurrence of Fibromyalgia and its impact on the quality of life of Brazilian patients with SLE treated at a University Hospital in the state of Paraiba.

Background: Since the introduction of the SLICC criteria in 2012, biopsy-proven lupus nephritis (LN) has been the only independent diagnostic criterion for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This was reaffirmed by the EULAR/ACR in 2019, emphasizing the importance of renal biopsy in LN. However, the current classification lacks specific histopathological criteria for defining LN.

We analyzed data from high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scans and pulmonary function tests (PFTs) to assess associations with autoantibody profiles and treatment regimens.

Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3/Machado-Joseph disease (SCA3/MJD) is caused by the expansion of a genetically unstable polyglutamine-encoding CAG repeat in ATXN3. Longer alleles are generally associated with earlier onset and frequent intergenerational expansions mediate the anticipation observed in this disorder. Somatic expansion of the repeat has also been implicated in disease onset and slowing the rate of somatic expansion has been proposed as a therapeutic strategy.

Synchronous gastric cancer with another neoplasm is a rare condition, with colorectal cancer being the most frequently associated neoplasm. This article presents a case of a 76-year-old male diagnosed with synchronous gastric and rectal cancer with complete remission of gastric and rectal neoplasms after adjuvant therapy. The patient exhibited symptoms prompting upper and lower endoscopies, revealing gastric and rectal adenocarcinomas, respectively.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Cone Beam Computed Tomography and Periapical Radiography for Detecting Apical Root Resorption in Retention Phase of Orthodontic Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study.

This clinical study aimed to evaluate and compare the diagnostic accuracy of intraoral periapical radiography (PR) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in detecting external apical root resorption (EARR) in orthodontic patients during the retention phase. The research involved 41 Caucasian patients who had undergone comprehensive orthodontic treatment, with a total of 328 teeth analyzed. The Kappa values for inter- and intra-examiner agreement were high for both PR and CBCT, indicating a robust level of agreement among examiners.

Cancer-associated myositis before and after the COVID-19 pandemic onset: a changing trend.

Objectives: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant impact on the management of non-COVID-19 related diseases, potentially increasing the incidence of paraneoplastic syndromes such as cancer-associated myositis (CAM).The aim of this study is to determine the incidence of CAM in our cohort before and after the COVID-19 pandemic onset.
