Background: Eye-tracking can provide deep insight into the nurses' attention during simulated practice. Knowing which gaze patterns promote situational awareness can significantly improve nurse instruction.

The current study investigates the association between differences in skin temperature and perceived anxiety by under- ( = 21) and post-graduate ( = 19) nursing students undertaking a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. Two-hundred and sixty-six (88.3% of respondents) students were assessed by a confidential questionnaire, which was distributed, completed by the students and collected in the same session.
