Changes in perinatal mental healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic: a protocol for a collaborative research study between the COST actions RISEUP-PPD and DEVOTION.

Introduction: Significant changes in routine maternity care have been introduced globally in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce infection risk, but also due to lack of medical facilities, staff shortages and the unpredictable nature of the disease. However, it is yet to be established if specialised perinatal mental health (PMH) services have been similarly affected. As a Task Force in PMH and COVID-19 pandemic within Riseup-PPD COST Action, this study aims to identify changes in PMH practices, policies and protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe.

[Meanings and factors that influence nursing research at the Walter Cantídio University Hospital].

This study analyzed the meanings and factors that may interfere in Nursing research in the point of view of assistant nurses working in a public University Hospital in the city of Fortaleza, State of Ceará. A quantitative-qualitative survey was carried out with 22 nurses between March 4 and April 30, 2005. The findings pointed out that nurses value the importance of research for enriching their profession.

Sexually transmitted infections in a female population in rural north-east Brazil: prevalence, morbidity and risk factors.

Objectives: To determine the prevalence of major sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and gynaecological morbidity in women of reproductive age living in rural communities in north-east Brazil and to assess risk factors associated with the presence of STIs.

Methods: A total of 341 women (84%) were examined gynaecologically and colposcopically. The gynaecological history was taken by means of a standardized, pre-tested questionnaire.
