The use of UAVs (drones) and photogrammetry has gained attention in recent years in the construction industry, allowing information to be obtained from a given area without having direct contact with the area, and thus, being a more efficient alternative in terms of time and costs when compared to a traditional topographic survey. Due to the increase in the use of UAVs for photogrammetry, an investigation is proposed to determine the influence of a non-controllable component in photogrammetric flights: the weather. Factors such as brightness, temperature, wind, KP index, and solar radiation affect the precision and quality of the images to be used in photogrammetry.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the oral cavity of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients using genotyping and compare it to conventional Pap staining methods.
  • The research included 18 T2DM patients with various grades of prosthetic stomatitis and 18 healthy controls, utilizing exfoliative cytology and blood tests to analyze fungal presence and gene expression.
  • Results showed that the end-point PCR technique was more sensitive in detecting oral candidiasis than Pap staining, with higher fungal presence in T2DM patients correlating to lower gene expression levels.

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate office workers for symptoms of computer vision syndrome (CVS) and alterations in the tear film relate to the hours of daily computer use.

Methods: Sixty-seven volunteers were divided into 2 groups: 2 to 6 and 7 to 12 hours of daily computer use. Computer vision syndrome symptoms, tear film stability by tear film break-up time test, and composition of mucin 5 AC, catalase, and IL-6 was assessed by relative gene expression of conjunctival impression cytology samples were examined.
