The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of administering hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) for triggering ovulation at different follicle sizes in infertile women undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI).
It involved 612 women divided into two groups: one receiving early hCG when the leading follicle was 16.0-16.9 mm and the other receiving late hCG at 18.0-18.9 mm.
The results showed that both groups had similar clinical and ongoing pregnancy rates, indicating that early hCG administration is just as effective as late hCG in IUI cycles.
