[Practices used by women at post-birth on nipple problems].

This is a qualitative study, of Convergent-assistential type, with the objective of knowing the women's practices at post-birth for the resolution of nipple problems, at home, and intervene to its resolution. Fourteen women at post-birth who were in the breastfeeding period and attended at a Center of Integral Attention to Health were participants. It was used a semi-structured interview, participant observation and notes in field diary, analised according to Trentini and Paim's proposal.

[Breastfeeding and relactation - nurse's intervention].

The role of the nurse both in breastfeeding and in relactation is presented according to Leavell's and Clark's levels of prevention. The authors describe the subject the mother should be taught during pregnancy and after delivery; they emphasize the preparation of the breasts for breastfeeding, the measures to be taken in periods of crisis and of hypogalactia, the procedures for promotion of relactation.
