Reversible data hiding (RDH) is crucial in modern data security, ensuring confidentiality and tamper-proofness in various industries like copyright protection, medical imaging, and digital forensics. As technology advances, RDH techniques become essential, but the trade-off between embedding capacity and visual quality must be heeded. In this paper, the relative correlation between the pixel's local complexity and its directional prediction error is employed to enhance an efficient RDH without using a location map.

Applications of an electronic nose in the prediction of oxidative stability of stored biodiesel derived from soybean and waste cooking oil.

Waste cooking oil (WCO) is a valuable feedstock for the synthesis of biodiesel but the product exhibits poor oxidative stability. Techniques available for assessing this parameter are generally expensive and time-consuming, hence the purpose of this study was to develop and validate a rapid and reliable predictive system based on signals from the sensors of a commercial hand-held e-nose instrument. Biodiesels were synthesized from soybean oil and six samples of WCO, and their physicochemical characteristics and oxidative stabilities determined before and after storage in different types of containers for 30 or 60 days at room temperature or 43 °C.

Forefoot varus is thought to result in subtalar hyperpronation during weightbearing circumstances. However, few studies have aimed to verify whether there is a significant relationship between forefoot alignment and subtalar hyperpronation.

Dengue infection in pregnancy and transplacental transfer of anti-dengue antibodies in Northeast, Brazil.

Background: Dengue affects nearly 400 million people annually worldwide and considered one of the most serious health threats in tropical and subtropical countries.

Objective: To analyze the occurrence of dengue infection among the parturient who have formed the baseline of an ongoing birth cohort study in the city of Recife, Northeast of Brazil.

Study Design: From March 2011 to May 2012, we recruited 417 parturients with low-risk pregnancies at maternity ward who agreed to a follow-up of their babies.
