Anxiety elicits various physiological responses, including changes in respiratory rate and neuronal activity within specific brain regions such as the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC). Previous research suggests that the olfactory bulb (OB) modulates the mPFC through respiration-coupled neuronal oscillations (RCOs), which have been linked to fear-related freezing behavior. Nevertheless, the impact of breathing on frontal brain networks during other negative emotional responses, such as anxiety-related states characterized by higher breathing rates, remains unclear.

Recent studies have provided information about digital eye strain and the potential damage that blue light from digital devices can cause to the eyes. In this study, we analyzed the influence of blue light exposure on reconstructed 3-dimensional skin model using RNA sequencing to identify the expression of transcripts and abnormal events. Three-dimensional skin was exposed to visible light spectrum and isolated blue wavelength for 1, 2, and 4 hours to represent acute exposure and 1 hour over 4 sequential days to represent repeated exposure, respectively, in this in vitro model.

Episodic-like memory (ELM) consists in the capacity of nonhuman animals to remember 'where' and 'when' a specific episode occurred ('what'). Previous studies have showed that Wistar rats can form an ELM, but not after a 24 h retention delay. On the other hand, it has been demonstrated that caffeine can improve episodic memory consolidation in humans.

Our aim was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of a minimal lymphocyte subset quantification (LSQ) by flow cytometry as the first screening in children with clinically suspected primary immunodeficiency (PID). Two hundred sixty-eight Brazilian patients (0-21 years old) were studied. They were divided by clinical and phenotypical features into those fulfilling criteria for PID (PID phenotype) according to the 2017 International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) classification and those not fulfilling these criteria (non-PID phenotype).
