The Chilaiditi sign is the presence of a loop of bowel interposed between the liver and the diaphragm. In most cases, the Chilaiditi sign is diagnosed as a rare incidental radiological finding on chest X-rays or the abdomen of asymptomatic patients. When associated with symptoms, it is named Chilaiditi syndrome.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of pregabalin and dexamethasone coadministration in preemptive analgesia and anxiety control in lower third molar surgery.
Materials And Methods: A triple-blind, split-mouth clinical trial conducted with patients divided into two groups: control group, receiving placebo and dexamethasone, and test group, receiving pregabalin and dexamethasone preoperatively. The evaluated variables were pain, measured by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), anxiety assessed through the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) questionnaires, hemodynamic parameters [Blood Pressure (BP), Heart Rate (HR), Oxygen Saturation (SpO)], and sedation assessed by the Ramsay scale.
Objectives: Conducting a scoping review (SR) to assess scientific evidence for topical simvastatin's impact on alveolar bone regeneration and determine its level of support for clinical applications.
Materials And Methods: This SR followed the PRISMA-ScR and OSF registries protocol; systematic searching was conducted on MEDLINE/PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and LILACS, to identify relevant articles until June 2023. Inclusion criteria covered clinical trials, case series, prospective and retrospective studies, along with in vivo investigations, involving participants of any sex and age.

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of a collagen sponge containing simvastatin on socket healing in terms of bone microarchitecture through tomographic analysis, pain, and swelling after impacted third molar extraction.
Materials And Methods: In this single-blind, split-mouth, randomized clinical trial, 29 patients undergoing impacted third molar extraction were allocated into two groups: (i) test group, a collagen sponge containing simvastatin was inserted within the sockets; and (ii) control group, in which sockets retained the clot. Bone volume (BV), bone volume fraction (BV/TV), trabecular thickness (Tb.
Multi-strain inoculants have increased potential to accomplish a diversity of plant needs, mainly attributed to its multi-functionality. This work evaluated the ability of a mixture of three bacteria to colonize and induce a beneficial response on the pasture crop annual ryegrass. Pseudomonas G1Dc10 and Paenibacillus G3Ac9 were previously isolated from annual ryegrass and were selected for their ability to perform multiple functions related to plant growth promotion.

Methods: The authors conducted a split-mouth, prospective, randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 20 participants with a mean age of 21.60 ± 6.
Annual ryegrass is a fast-growing cool-season grass broadly present in the Portuguese "montado", a typically Mediterranean agro-forestry-pastoral ecosystem. A culture-dependent approach was used to investigate natural associations of this crop with potentially beneficial bacteria, aiming to identify strains suitable for biofertilization purposes. Annual ryegrass seedlings were used to trap bacteria from three different soils in laboratory conditions.

Information was collected on the profile of the healthcare users, the prescription indicators recommended by the World Health Organization and the understanding of drug prescriptions. Three hundred subjects were interviewed and the associated factors were identified using the Chi-square test.

Several genomic clusters were obtained which, by 16S rRNA gene sequencing of selected representatives, were shown to be associated with particular taxonomic groups of rhizobia and other soil bacteria. The method provided a clear separation between rhizobia and co-isolated non-symbiotic soil contaminants.

The present study investigates the association of mutations in the nuclear receptor NR4A2 in schizophrenic patients. The human Nur-related receptor 1, NR4A2, is an orphan nuclear receptor that can be constitutively active as a transcription factor and for which no natural ligand has yet been identified. Alone or with retinoid X receptor, RXR, NR4A2 influences the expression of several genes important for human brain development and regulation.

Candidate genes from the dopaminergic system have long been hypothesized to be involved in the etiology of this disorder. In the present study, we investigated the genetic association between polymorphisms in the D2 and D3 dopamine receptor (DRD2, DRD3) genes and schizophrenia.
