Background: Screening for congenital heart diseases by pulse oximetry is used for the initial assessment of the neonate. Variants of hemoglobin F can compromise light absorbance, inducing erroneous results.
Case Report: Two infants screened for congenital heart disease showed an asymptomatic low peripheral oxygen saturation.
Background: Chylothorax in neonates results from leakage of lymph from thoracic lymphatic ducts and is mainly congenital or posttraumatic. The clinical course of the effusion is heterogeneous, and consensus on treatment, timing, and modalities of measures has not yet been established. This review aims to present, along with levels of evidence and recommendation grades, all current therapeutic possibilities for the treatment of chylothorax in neonates.

Yet, deliberate modifications of translational fidelity can be beneficial. Here we found human and not E.

Instead of being detrimental for the cell, misincorporation of methionine residues in the proteome reduces the risk of oxidative damage to proteins, which aids the oxidative stress response. tRNA microarrays have been essential for the detection of the full pattern of misacylated tRNAs, but have limited capacity to investigate the misacylation and mistranslation mechanisms in live cells.

BCS is a rare form of portal hypertension in children. The authors describe two cases of BCS with differing presentations. Case 1: Previously healthy four-yr-old girl.

In order to identify general rules that shape codon-pair context and minimize mRNA decoding error, we have carried out a large scale comparative codon-pair context analysis of 119 fully sequenced genomes.
Methodologies/principal Findings: We have developed mathematical and software tools for large scale comparative codon-pair context analysis.
Objective: To assess the changes in the medicamentous treatment of elderly patients hospitalized with acute myocardial infarction occurring over an 8-year period.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 379 patients above the age of 65 years with acute myocardial infarction who were admitted to the coronary unit of a university-affiliated hospital from 1990 to 1997. The patients were divided into 2 groups, according to the period of time of hospital admission as follows: group 1 - from 1990 to 1993; and group 2 - from 1994 to 1997.
