Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate the presence of lipolytic and proteolytic Pseudomonas spp. in refrigerated raw milk during milking, comparing samples from rainy and dry seasons as well as between manual and mechanical milking systems.
  • Pseudomonas spp. were found in all sampling points, with a higher isolation rate during the rainy season, while lipolytic activity was more common during the dry season, particularly in water samples.
  • Raw milk from manual milking showed 10-12% of Pseudomonas isolates producing lipase after milking, while mechanical milking had higher percentages of lipolytic activity, with proteolytic strains present in all samples, especially during the rainy

To shed light on the associations established between Vibrio species and soft corals in coastal ecosystems, we report here the draft genome sequence of Vibrio sp. strain Evh12, a bacterium that has been isolated from the gorgonian coral Eunicella verrucosa and that shows antagonistic activity against Escherichia coli.

To shed light on the putative host-mediated lifestyle of the quintessential marine symbiont Aliivibrio fischeri, and on the symbiosis versus potentially pathogenic features of bacteria associated with farmed fish, we report the draft genome sequence of A. fischeri strain 5LC, a bacterium retrieved from gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) larvae.

We report here the draft genome sequence of Vibrio sp. Vb278, a biofilm-producing strain isolated from the marine sponge Sarcotragus spinosulus, showing in vitro antibacterial activity. The annotated genome displays a range of symbiotic factors and the potential for the biosynthesis of several biologically active natural products.
