In recent years, the concentration of PM in the Beijing urban area has decreased with the increase in the proportion of secondary inorganic ions. In order to explore the characteristics and sources of the light scattering of PM with different chemical compositions, PM with its chemical components and scattering coefficient were continuously measured at hourly resolution in the Beijing urban area from December 2020 to November 2021. The components, scattering characteristics, and sources of PM were analyzed.

Eucommia ulmoides Oliver is one of the commonly used traditional Chinese medicines for the treatment of osteoporosis, and iridoid glycosides are considered to be its active ingredients against osteoporosis. This study aims to clarify the chemical components and molecular mechanism of iridoid glycosides of Eucommia ulmoides Oliver in the treatment of osteoporosis by integrating network pharmacology and molecular simulations. The active iridoid glycosides and their potential targets were retrieved from text mining as well as Swiss Target Prediction, TargetNet database, and STITCH databases.

Seven enzyme groups were applied to hydrolyze broken fruiting bodies of morel mushroom (Morchella sextelata) to extract umami substances. Physical-chemical properties, as well as compositions and concentrations of quintessential umami compounds of morel hydrolysates were analyzed. Electronic tongue and electronic nose were used to evaluate the sensory characteristics.

In the nocturnal boundary layer, nitrate radical (NO) has an important contribution to atmospheric chemistry through oxidation of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons. Vertical distributions of NO, O and NO were measured by four differential optical absorption spectroscopy instruments at meteorological tower in Beijing from June 1 to July 22, 2019. The results show the mean diurnal variations of NO, O, and NO display a single peak (up to 65.

Implant-associated infections are generally difficult to cure owing to the bacterial antibiotic resistance which is attributed to the widespread usage of antibiotics. Given the global threat and increasing influence of antibiotic resistance, there is an urgent demand to explore novel antibacterial strategies other than using antibiotics. Recently, using a certain surface topography to provide a more persistent antibacterial solution attracts more and more attention.

O continuous monitoring data for the Dingling, Guanyuan, Liulihe, and Qianmen sites from 2006-2015 were analyzed to investigate concentration levels, variation trends, temporal variations, and relationships with precursors and meteorological factors. The results showed that the ten year average concentrations of O at the Dingling site were the highest at 65.2 μg·m, followed by concentrations at Liulihe (53.

Metabolic changes of mushroom (Flammulina velutipes) applied with polyethylene (PE) material (Normal-PM) or nanocomposite reinforced PE packaging material (Nano-PM) were monitored using tandem mass tags (TMT) labeling combined with two-dimensional liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (2D LC-MS/MS) technique. A total of 429 proteins were investigated as differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) among treatments after a cold storage period. A total of 232 DEPs were up-regulated and 65 DEPs were down-regulated in Nano-PM packed F.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how different packaging materials affect the flavor profile of Flammulina velutipes mushrooms during storage, using advanced technologies like E-nose, E-tongue, and HS-SPME-GC-MS for analysis.
  • Fresh mushrooms primarily contained volatile compounds such as ketones and alcohols, with 3-octanone being the most abundant; however, these profiles changed significantly after storage, especially in mushrooms packed with standard materials.
  • Nanocomposite packaging was found to inhibit ethanol buildup, and distinct flavor changes were observable through radar graphs and principal component analysis (PCA) of electronic tongue signals over time.

Button mushroom slices were dehydrated using freeze drying (FD) or FD combined with microwave vacuum drying (FMVD), and the non-volatile component profiles were studied. The results showed that the level of non-volatile components in button mushroom firstly increased during sublimation of FD/FMVD process and then fell during desorption in FD process and MVD in FMVD process. Compared to FD products, the contents of soluble sugars and polyols in FMVD products were relatively low, whereas the contents of total free amino acids were significantly higher, close to the level of fresh mushroom.

Tea polyphenols have strong antioxidant and antitumor activities. However, these health benefits are limited due to their poor in vivo stability and low bioavailability. Chitosan nanoparticles as delivery systems may provide an alternative approach for enhancing bioavailability of poorly absorbed drugs.

Chitosan nanoparticles (CS-NPs) were prepared by ionic gelation method using carboxymethyl chitosan and chitosan hydrochloride as carriers of tea polyphenols. The characteristics of chitosan-coated tea polyphenols nanoparticles (CS-TP NPs) were determined by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and FT-IR spectroscopy. It was found that the synthesized CS-TP NPs were non-spherical in shape with an average size of 407±50nm.
