Building heterojunctions and exposing more catalytic active sites are effective strategies to enhance the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity. Herein, TiO nanosheets are oxidized in situ on Ru-loaded MXene as carriers and subsequently loaded with uniform 2D CdS via hydrothermal method to obtain 2D Ru/TiC-TiO/CdS composite photocatalysts that integrate heterojunctions and cocatalysts. The formation of heterojunction between CdS and TiO is conducive to promoting the separation and transfer of photogenerated charges, simultaneously, Ru/TiC with the fully exposed Ru and TiC can act as effective active sites of photocatalytic hydrogen production reaction.

Construction of S-scheme heterojunction offers a promising way to enhance the photocatalytic performance of photocatalysts for converting solar energy into chemical energy. However, the photocatalytic H production in pure water without sacrificial agents is still a challenge. Herein, the IEF-11 with the best photocatalytic H production performance in MOFs and suitable band structure was selected and firstly constructed with g-CN to obtain a S-scheme heterojunction for photocatalytic H production from pure water.

Cholinesterase (ChE) is associated with the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic airway inflammation and oxidation/antioxidant imbalance. However, the relationship between serum ChE levels and survival outcomes of patients hospitalized with acute exacerbations of COPD (AECOPD) is unknown. In this retrospective single-center study, we investigated the ability of the serum ChE level to predict in-hospital death in patients hospitalized with AECOPD.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) makes it difficult to achieve good performance on tumor treatments due to insufficient photothermal conversion efficiency, . Combining PTT with photodynamic therapy (PDT) and other therapeutic tools can significantly enhance the tumor-killing ability and has been widely used in the development of therapeutic platforms. Copper sulfide nanoparticle (CuS NP) photothermal reagents have the advantages of low toxicity and simple synthesis; therefore, combining CuS NPs with PDT photosensitizers is an effective strategy to construct a PTT/PDT combination therapeutic platform.

Single-atom catalyst technology with near-100% atomic utilization and a well-defined coordination structure has provided new ideas for designing high-performance photocatalysts, which is also beneficial for reducing the usage of noble metal cocatalysts. Herein, a series of single-atomic MoS-based cocatalysts where monoatomic Ru, Co, or Ni modify MoS (SA-MoS) for enhancing the photocatalytic hydrogen production performance of g-CN nanosheets (NSs) are rationally designed and synthesized. The 2D SA-MoS/g-CN photocatalysts with Ru, Co, or Ni single atoms show similar enhanced photocatalytic activity, and the optimized Ru-MoS/g-CN photocatalyst has the highest hydrogen production rate of 11115 μmol/h/g, which is about 37 and 5 times higher than that of pure g-CN and MoS/g-CN photocatalysts, respectively.
