Frailty and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can occur concurrently and are increasingly prevalent in older populations. There is a marked variability in frailty progression between men and women. - Frailty was found to be present in 28% of patients, with slightly higher rates in urban areas (30%) compared to rural areas (26%), and associated factors included older age, being underweight, and having difficulties with daily activities.
- Conversely, higher education and engaging in productive work were linked to a lower likelihood of being frail.
