Purpose: The role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma (SNSCC) has not been established prospectively. We conducted a phase II trial of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) with docetaxel/cisplatin/5-fluorouracil (TPF) in this population.
Materials And Methods: Eligible patients had unresectable, locally advanced SNSCC, defined as T3/4 stage or potential compromise of critical organ function on surgery.
A woman in her 30s with type 2 diabetes and morbid obesity presented with flu-like symptoms, persistent cough and mild dyspnoea, unresponsive to pneumonia treatment. Diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, she was started on induction chemotherapy. Despite prophylactic antifungal and antibacterial therapy, she developed a fever, a right upper lobe opacity and a complete airway obstruction by a large endobronchial mass in the right main stem.

The directed hydroamination reactions afford a variety of 1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-diamines in good to excellent yields and high regio- and chemoselectivities. Background: Transbronchial lung biopsy with radial endobronchial ultrasound (rEBUS-TBB) and Computed tomography (CT) scan-guided transthoracic biopsy (CT-TTB) are commonly used to investigate peripheral lung nodules but high-quality data are still not clear about the diagnostic and safety profile comparison of these two modalities.
Method: We included all randomized controlled trials (RCT) comparing rEBUS-TBB with a flexible bronchoscope and CT-TTB for solitary lung nodules. Two reviewers extracted data independently on diagnostic performance and complication rates.
Studies have been actively conducted to identify actionable mutations and incorporate them into clinical practice in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), which is known to have a poor prognosis with traditional cytotoxic chemotherapy. A BRAF point mutation in V600E is commonly reported in KRAS wild-type PDAC, and targeting BRAF_V600E is already being applied to various carcinomas, including PDAC. Accumulated evidence also shows that not only BRAF_V600E but also short in-frame deletions of BRAF have an oncogenic function.
