Purpose: To describe a novel technique in unfolding an endothelium-in Descemet membrane (DM) graft.

Methods: New surgical technique description.

Results: We describe a novel technique that allows immediate and controlled unfolding of the endothelium-in Descemet membrane graft that was successful in 5 of our DMEK patients.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of using topical cyclosporin A 0.05% (Restasis) for the treatment of paediatric allergic conjunctivitis.

Methods: This retrospective study included consecutive cases of paediatric allergic conjunctivitis treated with Restasis between 2010 and 2013.

Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) is a noninvasive technology capable of capturing high-resolution images of the anterior segment. With AS-OCT, a 7-year-old boy with nystagmus was diagnosed as having secondary congenital aphakia. The presence of lens capsules on the AS-OCT was of significant prognostic and management value and the child later benefited from bilateral sulcus-fixated intraocular lens implantation surgery.

Purpose: To assess the interobserver variability and agreement of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the measurement of LASIK flap thickness, and to compare the results with intraoperative ultrasound pachymetry measurements.

Methods: Thirty-nine eyes of 20 consecutive patients undergoing LASIK with the XP microkeratome (Bausch & Lomb) and ALLEGRETTO Eye-Q laser system (WaveLight Inc) had corneal flap thickness measured with SP-100 ultrasound (Tomey Corp) intraoperatively and with OCT (Visante; Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc) postoperatively. Interobserver assessment was performed by comparing the flap thickness measurements obtained from the same scan by 2 masked, independent observers.

Purpose: To determine the repeatability and reproducibility of central and peripheral corneal pachymetry mapping with anterior segment-optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT).

Methods: An observational cross-sectional study involving two groups: 27 healthy eyes and 20 eyes with keratoconus. Each subject underwent scanning sessions with AS-OCT to determine intraobserver repeatability, interobserver reproducibility, and additionally for healthy eyes, intersession reproducibility for different regions of the cornea up to a 10-mm diameter.

Capsular block syndrome (CBS) or capsular bag distension syndrome is characterized by distension of the capsular bag after uneventful phacoemulsification and endocapsular intraocular lens implantation. The syndrome has also been reported after extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens placed in the sulcus. We report the anterior segment optical coherence tomographic findings in a case of early postoperative CBS.

Purpose: To describe the use of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) in studying the dynamic dark-light changes of the anterior chamber angle.

Methods: Thirty-seven normal subjects with open angles on dark-room gonioscopy and 18 subjects with narrow angles were analyzed. The dynamic dark-light changes of the anterior-chamber angle were captured with real-time video recording.

Background: To assess the efficacy and safety of combined intravitreal triamcinolone (IVTA) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) with verteporfin in the treatment of choroidal neovascularisation (CNV) secondary to pathological myopia.

Methods: 22 eyes of 22 patients with subfoveal or juxtafoveal CNV due to pathological myopia were prospectively recruited for combined PDT with IVTA. The treatment outcomes at 1 year were compared with those in a control group of 22 eyes that received PDT monotherapy.
