Purpose: This paper reports on a course developed for school nurses. The course focused on locating reliable and high-quality medical information resources on the Internet.
Setting/participants/resources: The Health Sciences Library System (HSLS) of the University of Pittsburgh formed a partnership with the Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses and Practitioners (PASNAP).
Purpose: This paper examines the integration of instruction about quality health resources on the Internet into the health curriculum of a specialized high school for students with hearing disabilities.
Setting/participants/resources: The Health Sciences Library System (HSLS) at the University of Pittsburgh has formed a partnership with the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD).
Brief Description: This project was partially funded through a subcontract with the National Library of Medicine.
Purpose: The purpose was to evaluate the use of Web-based library resources by third-year medical students.
Setting/participants/resources: Third-year medical students (147) in a twelve-week multidisciplinary primary care rotation in community and ambulatory settings.
Methodology: Individual user surveys and log file analysis of Website were used.
