Barriers and opportunities faced by public health practitioners in using public health guidance on COVID-19: a knowledge translation exercise for the eCOVID-19 RecMap.

Background And Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic prompted the scientific community to collaborate in an unprecedented way, with the rapid and urgent generation and translation of new knowledge about the disease and its causative agent. Iteratively, and at different levels of government and globally, population-level guidance was created and updated, resulting in the need for a living catalog of guidelines, the eCOVID-19 Recommendations Map and Gateway to Contextualization (RecMap). This article focuses on the approach that was used to analyze barriers and opportunities associated with using the RecMap in public health in Canada.

Characterising the allergic profile of children with cystic fibrosis.

Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition that affects multiple organ systems. Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) is a well-recognised problem but other allergic conditions are less well documented in CF.

Objective: To characterise the allergic profile of a cohort of children with CF, with a focus on those with ABPA.

Identifying attributes of food literacy: a scoping review.

Objective: An absence of food literacy measurement tools makes it challenging for nutrition practitioners to assess the impact of food literacy on healthy diets and to evaluate the outcomes of food literacy interventions. The objective of the present scoping review was to identify the attributes of food literacy.

Design: A scoping review of peer-reviewed and grey literature was conducted and attributes of food literacy identified.

PubMed had a higher sensitivity than Ovid-MEDLINE in the search for systematic reviews.

Objective: To compare the performance of Ovid-MEDLINE vs. PubMed for identifying randomized controlled trials of methotrexate (MTX) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Study Design And Setting: We created search strategies for Ovid-MEDLINE and PubMed for a systematic review of MTX in RA.

Clinical librarian attendance at general surgery quality of care rounds (Morbidity and Mortality Conference).

Quality of Care rounds, also known as Mortality and Morbidity conferences, are an important and time-honored forum for quality audit in clinical surgery services. The authors created a modification to their hospital's Quality of Care rounds by incorporating a clinical librarian, who assisted residents in conducting literature reviews related to clinical topics discussed during the rounds. The objective of this article is to describe the authors' experience with this intervention.
