Background: Residents at nursing homes (NHs) are at particular risk for drug related harm. Regular medication reviews using explicit criteria for pharmacological inappropriateness and classification of drug related problems (DRPs) have recently been introduced as measures to improve the quality of medication use and for making the treatment more uniform across different institutions. Objective: We describe the drug-related problems (DRPs) identified during medication reviews (MRs) and the changes in drug utilization after MRs at nursing homes in Oslo, Norway. We explored predictors for the observed changes.
Design: Observational before-after study.
Mangafodipir trisodium (Mn-DPDP, Teslascan) is a well-tolerated liver contrast agent. Although the enhancement characteristics of the cirrhotic liver after Mangafodipir trisodium administration have been studied, at present there is no published data on the impact that cirrhosis might have on the safety and efficacy profiles of this agent.
