In patients with advanced ovarian cancer (AOC) receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), predicting the feasibility of complete interval cytoreductive surgery (ICRS) is helpful and may avoid unnecessary laparotomy. A joint model (JM) is a dynamic individual predictive model. The aim of this study was to develop a predictive JM combining CA-125 kinetics during NAC with patients' and clinical factors to predict resectability after NAC in patients with AOC.

Background: Early detection of postoperative infectious complications (IC) is crucial after Cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC). The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive role of early postoperative inflammatory biomarkers level for the detection of postoperative IC.

Methods: a retrospective study was performed including 199 patients treated with complete CRS/HIPEC for PC from various primary origins from September 2012 to January 2021.

Background: The combination of CRS and HIPEC is an effective therapeutic strategy to treat peritoneal surface malignancies, however it is associated with significant postoperative mortality.

Methods: All patients treated with a combination of CRS and HIPEC between January 2009 and December 2018 in 22 French centers and died in the hospital, were retrospectively analyzed.

Primary gastric synovial sarcoma: A case report and literature review.

Introduction: Synovial sarcoma (SS) is a mesenchymal neoplasm that is characterized by its unique histological pattern and is most commonly found near the joints of the extremity. Stomach involvement is very rare. This work aimed to present the case of a patient with gastric SS.

Hepatic abscess: Diagnosis and management.

Microbial contamination of the liver parenchyma leading to hepatic abscess (HA) can occur via the bile ducts or vessels (arterial or portal) or directly, by contiguity. Infection is usually bacterial, sometimes parasitic, or very rarely fungal. In the Western world, bacterial (pyogenic) HA is most prevalent; the mortality is high approaching 15%, due mostly to patient debilitation and persistence of the underlying cause.

Abdominal desmoplastic small round cell tumor: multimodal treatment combining chemotherapy, surgery, and radiotherapy is the best option.

Background: With nearly 450 cases reported since 1991, desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) is a rare abdominal tumor typically arising in adolescent and young adult white men. With no large series described, the best therapeutic strategy remains unclear.

Methods: All consecutive patients treated in our tertiary care center between January 1991 and December 2013 for a DSRCT were retrospectively studied.

Laparoscopic thermal ablation of splenic metastases initial experience and present aspects.

Unlabelled: Splenic metastases develop in less than 1% of all metastatic cancers, and typically occur in a setting of disseminated disease. When isolated splenic metastasis occurs, the patient may be a candidate for aggressive treatment consisting mainly of splenectomy as described in the literature. However, the increased incidence of post-operative morbidity and severe infection after splenectomy are well known.

Pancreas cancer-associated polymyositis of the legs regressing after cephalic duodenopancreatectomy: case report and review of the literature.

Context: Inflammatory myopathy, such as polymyositis, has been widely reported as paraneoplastic syndrome associated with various malignancies. However, its association with pancreas adenocarcinoma is very uncommon.

Case Report: A case of a patient with paraneoplastic polymyositis of both legs associated with pancreatic adenocarcinoma is reported here.
