Risk Stratification in People with Diabetes for Fasting During Ramadan: Consensus from Arabic Association for the Study of Diabetes and Metabolism.

Background: Current international guidelines recommend a pre-Ramadan risk assessment for people with diabetes (PwDM) who plan on fasting during the Holy month. However, a comprehensive risk assessment-based recommendation for the management of PwDM intending to fast is still controversial. Therefore, the Arabic Association for the Study of Diabetes and Metabolism (AASD) developed this consensus to provide further insights into risk stratification in PwDM intending to fast during Ramadan.

Amniotic membrane can be a valid source for wound healing.

Unlabelled: Amniotic membrane (AM) can promote proper epithelialization with suppression of excessive fibrosis by creating a supportive milieu for regeneration of chronic ulcer bed.

Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate whether AM scaffold can modulate the healing of a wound by promoting tissue reconstruction rather than promoting scar tissue formation.

Subjects And Methods: AM was obtained and prepared and then applied to patients with chronic leg ulcers who were randomly divided into two different groups.

Management of critical lower limb ischemia in endovascular era: experience from 511 patients.

This study aims at the assessment of the achievability of the endovascular treatment of patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI) and the role of bypass in such patient. This is a prospective study conducted on patients with chronic atherosclerotic critical lower limb ischemia presenting to us over a period of 3 years. Patients presenting with nonsalvageable limbs requiring primary major amputation and nonatherosclerotic causes of CLI were excluded.

Carotid body tumors: a review of 25 years experience in diagnosis and management of 56 tumors.

Objective: To report our experience in the management of CBTs and review the literature.
