Comparison of Local Anaesthetic Efficacy of Tramadol Versus Lignocaine for Extraction of Tooth Under Supraperiosteal Infiltration.

Background: Tramadol has been shown to have a local anaesthetic effect when used as infiltration anaesthesia.

Methods: The local anaesthetic efficacy of tramadol was compared with that of lignocaine for the extraction of teeth in terms of their onset of action, duration of action, intraoperative pain, post-operative analgesic effect and adverse reactions. Apart from this, incidence of allergic reaction was also recorded for both the drugs.

Comparison of Erich arch bar versus embrasure wires for intraoperative intermaxillary fixation in mandibular fractures.

Purpose: Intermaxillary fixation (IMF) is a fundamental principle in the management of mandibular fractures but with recent advent of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), use of IMF is almost limited intraoperatively. Therefore, we compared the efficacy of Erich arch bar versus embrasure wires for intraoperative IMF in mandibular fractures.

Method: This prospective study was comprised of 50 patients with mandibular fractures who required ORIF with intraoperative IMF.

Evaluation of the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin in alveolar defects after removal of impacted bilateral mandibular third molars.

Aim And Objectives: This study attempted the evaluation of the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in alveolar defects after removal of bilateral mandibular third molars.

Materials And Methods: A total of 30 patients reporting to Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and having bilateral mandibular third molar impaction in both male and female aged between 18 and 30 years were included in this study. PRF and PRP were placed in extraction site and recalled at 2(nd), 4(th), and 6(th) month postoperatively.

Ergonomic analysis of a traditional vehicle plying in rural and semi-urban areas in western India.

Chakdos in Western Indian state of Gujarat are makeshift vehicles for public transport. Such a vehicle was selected for ergonomic analysis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the design of the existing vehicle from an ergonomic viewpoint and to redesign it from an ergonomic perspective.

Dystrophic calcification is deposition of calcium salt in degenerated tissues in the presence of normal calcium and phosphorous metabolism. It usually occurs in injured tissues. The condition may be associated with a variety of systemic disorders.
