Adult Mediastinal Lymphangioma Presenting As Persistent Chest Pain: A Case Report.

Mediastinal lymphangiomas are rare benign tumors arising from lymphatic system malformations, most commonly seen in pediatric populations. In adults, they are exceedingly rare and present diagnostic challenges due to nonspecific symptoms and imaging overlap with other mediastinal masses. Diagnosis is typically based on imaging, including CT and MRI, with histopathology confirming the diagnosis.

4-Week intervention combining kiwifruit consumption and small-sided soccer games improves sleep quality in children with overweight/obesity and pre-existing sleep problems.

Childhood obesity is a global public health concern associated with various health risks, including disrupted sleep patterns. This study investigated the effects of kiwifruit consumption and small-sided soccer games (SSSG) over 4 weeks on sleep patterns in overweight/obese children with sleep problems. Thirty-six participants, aged 8 to 12 years with a body mass index above the 85th percentile, were randomly assigned to one of three groups: SSSG only ( = 12), SSSG-kiwifruit (SSSG-K,  = 12), or control (CG,  = 12).

This study is a cross-sectional analysis of data from five Mediterranean countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, and Lebanon) within the context of the EU-funded project DELICIOUS (UnDErstanding consumer food choices & promotion of healthy and sustainable Mediterranean Diet and LIfestyle in Children and adolescents through behavIOUral change actionS).

The current study carried out a reliability generalization meta-analysis (REGEMA) to establish the reliability of the BFI across cultures and languages.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) effectively treats Parkinson's disease (PD) motor symptoms, highlighting a gap in understanding current research trends and future directions. This study aims to analyze DBS literature systematically using bibliometric methods to map trends and identify opportunities. A total of 6,041 publications on DBS for PD from 1993 to 2023 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) on July 24, 2023.

Emergence of multi-drug-resistant, vancomycin-resistant, and multi-virulent Enterococcus species from chicken, dairy, and human samples in Egypt.

Aims: The present study aimed to detect the frequency of vancomycin resistance and virulence genes' profiles of multi-drug-resistant (MDR) enterococcal isolates from different sources and to investigate the sequence heterogeneity between the esp genes of MDR and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis isolates from chicken and human sources.

Methods And Results: Conventional phenotypic methods identified 91 isolates (60.7%) as Enterococcus species, and these isolates were retrieved from dairy (37/52), chicken (35/54), and human (19/44) origins.

Chlorhexidine-loaded microneedles for treatment of oral diseases.

Chlorhexidine (CHX) is a gold standard therapeutic agent against clinical oral pathogens. Efficacy of thyme honey in the management of oral aphthous ulcers: A randomized controlled clinical trial.

The current study aimed to assess the effect of thyme honey on pain relief in patients with minor aphthous ulcers as a primary objective, its healing effect on ulcer size reduction, and the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14). In this randomized clinical trial, 30 patients (15 in each group) having minor aphthous ulcers at the oral diagnostic clinic at the British University in Egypt were treated with either thyme honey or triamcinolone acetonide in orabase. Different clinical parameters were recorded for both groups at various intervals, such as pain intensity using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), size of ulcers in mm, and OHIP-14.

Conduction system pacing versus biventricular pacing in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and electrical dyssynchrony.

Biventricular pacing (BiVP) has been the cornerstone of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in the management of symptomatic heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and electrical dyssynchrony despite guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT). However, BiVP has some limitations, including technical difficulties and high non-response rates. Conduction system pacing encompassing His bundle pacing (HBP) and left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) has recently emerged as a promising alternative to CRT in this group of patients.

Validation of salivary proteomic biomarkers for early detection of oral cancer in the Egyptian population.

Purpose: The present study evaluated the sensitivity and specificity of important proteomic salivary biomarkers; IL-6, IL-8, and sCD44 in the early detection of oral cancer, and any possible associations with risk factors of oral cancer in an Egyptian population.

Methods: The present investigation was conducted on 100 individuals; 25 healthy controls, 25 patients having oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) with dysplasia; 25 patients having OPMDs without dysplasia, and 25 oral cancer patients. Demographic data modified gingival index, oral hygiene level, and salivary levels of the biomarkers were assessed.

Biphasic sleep, characterized by nighttime sleep plus daytime napping, has demonstrated some cognitive, health and performance impacts when compared with consolidated monophasic sleep. This motivated the development and validation of the Biphasic Sleep Scale, reported in this paper. Scale development involved a literature review, expert input and individual interviews.

Background: Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a widely performed procedure that significantly enhances patients' quality of life by reducing pain and improving daily function. The quality of psychosocial health and psychosocial illness among women with and without shelter homes: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Existing research on the psychosocial wellbeing of sheltered women is primarily from Western contexts, with limited studies from collectivistic cultures like Pakistan. This study aims to compare the psychosocial health and illness of sheltered women in Pakistan with those of women living with their families.

Methods: A total of 184 sheltered women and 207 women from the general population from four Pakistani cities participated in this study.

The current study investigates the morphological and histopathological relationship between the emergence of skin lesions and the severity of COVID-19 across the course of the disease via a cross-sectional study. There were skin lesions (maculopapular rash, vesiculobullous lesions, urticarial lesions, cutaneous thromboembolic "CT," and erythema multiforme-like lesions "EM-like") in confirmed COVID-19 instances.
