Knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding urinary tract infections among women in the United Arab Emirates.

Background: Urinary tract infections (UTIs), which are infections of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, or urethra, are a worldwide public health concern. As compared to men, women are more prone to UTIs. There have been several studies that explore the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of women regarding UTIs in different countries, but no such study has been conducted in the UAE; therefore, we conducted this study in the UAE setting.

Central Pontine Myelinolysis Induced by Rapid Correction of Hyponatremia in a Patient With Chronic Alcohol Use Disorder: A Case Report.

Central pontine myelinolysis (CPM) is a demyelinating disorder often associated with the rapid correction of hyponatremia. Elevated creatine phosphokinase (CPK) levels have been observed in some cases of CPM but are not well studied. A 38-year-old patient with chronic alcohol use disorder presented with jerky movements, confusion, and disorientation following severe hyponatremia.
