Techno-economic study of gas turbines with hydrogen, ammonia, and their mixture fuels.

Ammonia is a versatile energy carrier without carbon emissions that can be used for power generation. In this article, a techno-economic analysis has been done to predict the levelized cost of electricity production using gas turbines with clean fuel in Iran. In the technical discussion, the analysis of different scenarios of ammonia and hydrogen fuel composition ratio was done, and by keeping the turbine inlet temperature to the same gas turbine as the SGT5-2000E turbine, the output power in different fuel ratios is around 192.

Clinical characteristics and outcome of central nervous system tumors harboring NTRK gene fusions.

Purpose: TRK fusions are detected in less than 2% of central nervous system tumors. There are limited data on the clinical course of affected patients.

Experimental Design: We conducted an international retrospective cohort study of patients with TRK fusion-driven CNS tumors.

Quantifying functional group compositions of household fuel-burning emissions.

Globally, billions of people burn fuels indoors for cooking and heating, which contributes to millions of chronic illnesses and premature deaths annually. Additionally, residential burning contributes significantly to black carbon emissions, which have the highest global warming impacts after carbon dioxide and methane. In this study, we use Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to analyze fine-particulate emissions collected on Teflon membrane filters from 15 cookstove types and 5 fuel types.

Establishing ranked priorities for future hydrocephalus research.

Objective: The aim of this initiative was to develop a ranked list of hydrocephalus research priorities as determined by the hydrocephalus patient community in conjunction with the healthcare and scientific community.

Methods: Using the validated methodology published by the James Lind Alliance (JLA), the Hydrocephalus Association (HA) administered two surveys and hosted a final prioritization workshop. Survey One solicited open-ended responses from the community.

Algorithmic Approach to Inflammatory Disorders of Ileum.

The ileum has been candidate more frequently for endoscopic biopsy compared to the past. Most of those biopsies show either completely normal tissue or non-specific changes. Nevertheless, in some diseases, ileal biopsy would be diagnostic, and in some cases, it may be the only anatomical involved location by the disease.

A qualitative study of adolescents and young adults' experience and perceived needs during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aims: COVID-19 has led to unprecedented public health measures such as school and university closures across the world. While initial surveys show an increase in anxiety, we have little information on the subjective experience of adolescents and young adults (AYAs). The aims of this study were to understand the lived experience and needs of AYAs related to home confinement and preventive measures due to COVID-19.

Experience of Parents of Children with Genetically Determined Leukoencephalopathies Regarding the Adapted Health Care Services During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Parents of children with genetically determined leukoencephalopathies play a major role in their children's health care. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many health care services were suspended, delayed or delivered remotely with telemedicine. We sought to explore the experience of parents of children with genetically determined leukoencephalopathies during the pandemic given the adapted health care services.

Trends in Diagnosis Related Groups for Inpatient Admissions and Associated Changes in Payment From 2012 to 2016.

Importance: Hospitals are reimbursed based on Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs), which are defined, in part, by patients having 1 or more complications or comorbidities within a given DRG family. Hospitals have made substantial investment in efforts to document these complications and comorbidities.

Objective: To examine temporal trends in DRGs with a major complication or comorbidity, compare these findings with 2 alternative measures of disease severity, and estimate associated changes in payment.

Ultrasound-guided ethanol injection for the treatment of parathyroid adenoma: A prospective self-controlled study.

Background: Parathyroidectomy, the standard treatment of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP) due to parathyroid adenoma, is not suitable for all patients. We evaluated the efficacy of ultrasound-guided ethanol ablation of parathyroid adenoma in a group of patients with PHP.

Materials And Methods: In a prospective self-controlled trial, 39 patients with parathyroid adenoma, who were not candidates for surgery, were enrolled.

Electrospray Film Deposition for Solvent-Elimination Infrared Spectroscopy.

The application of electrospray (ES) for quantitative transfer of analytes from solution to an internal reflection element for analysis by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR FT-IR) spectroscopy has been developed in this work. The ES ATR FT-IR method is evaluated with non-volatile and semi-volatile organic and inorganic compounds dissolved in pure organic solvents or organics in a mixture with water. The technique demonstrates the capability for rapid solvent evaporation from dilute solutions, facilitating the creation of thin films that allow ATR FT-IR to generate transmission-mode-like spectra.

Patellar bracing affects sEMG activity of leg and thigh muscles during stance phase in patellofemoral pain syndrome.

Background: Decreases in patellofemoral pain symptoms with bracing treatment have been established; but, the mechanisms remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate and long-term effects of the patellar bracing on electromyography (EMG) activity of the Vastus Medialis (VM) and Lateralis (VL), Rectus Femoris, lateral Gastrocnemius, Biceps Femoris and Semitendinosus (ST) muscles during level walking.

Methods: 12 eligible women aged 20-30 years with diagnosis of patellofemoral pain participated in the before and after study.
