Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, also known as Hughes syndrome, is a multi-system autoimmune disorder characterized by recurrent thrombosis and fetal loss. The most common types of antiphospholipid antibodies include lupus anticoagulants, anticardiolipin antibodies, and anti-beta 2 glycoprotein 1 antibodies. Owing to the prothrombotic nature of this disease, diagnosing and treating the condition as early as possible is necessary.
