Background: Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) remains a significant public health concern, particularly in the tropical and subtropical regions. Present treatment options for CL such as Fluconazole (FLZ) face limitations, including low solubility and bioavailability. This study aimed to address these challenges by investigating the use of nano-emulsions (NEs) to enhance the efficacy of FLZ against Leishmania major(L.

Toxoplasma gondii, an intracellular parasite, has shown drug resistance and therapeutic failure in recent years. Dimedone (DIM) has been introduced as a new chemical compound with anti-bacterial and anti-cancer properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential protective role of DIM nanoparticles in an animal model of toxoplasmosis.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune neurodegenerative disease. Since the modulation of the immune system by parasites has been proven, and there have been reports of a reduction in the clinical symptoms of MS in people with toxoplasmosis, this study aimed to investigate the effect of toxoplasmosis on MS in an animal model. MS model was induced by the ethidium bromide injection in the areas specified in the Rat's brain in the stereotaxic device and Toxoplasma gondii RH strain injection of the rat's peritoneal for creation of toxoplasmosis.

Background: Different genotypes of have been abundantly isolated in environmental samples such as water, soil, and dust, as well as in different hospital departments and eyewash stations. This protozoan is a potential hazard for immunocompromised patients and contact lens wearers. The aim of the present study was isolation and genotyping of environmental and corneal isolates of in Hamadan, west of Iran.

This study was aimed to encapsulate and construct the Toxoplasma gondii surface antigen (SAG1) and naltrexone hydrochloride (NLT-HCL) as an adjuvant within chitosan nanoparticles (CS-NPs) to develop efficacious vaccine against T. gondii. Seven groups of BALB/c mice were immunized with SAG1, chitosan (CS), NLT-SAG1, CS-SAG1, CS-SAG1-NLT, CS-NLT and PBS.

Cystic echinococcosis, a zoonotic parasitic infection, is a major public health and economic concern, with worldwide distribution. The development of sensitive diagnostic methods for hydatid disease is important. We designed a highly sensitive nano-biosensor for the diagnosis of hydatid cyst based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs).

, as an obligate protozoan parasite, can infect a wide variety of animals as well as human. As some studies have shown, toxoplasmosis decreases the fertility potency in different hosts, so there is a necessity for studies to determine the effects of on reproductive system. Therefore, this project was aimed to investigate the effect of toxoplasmosis on the male reproductive system and sperm DNA integrity.

Despite the fact that amphotericin B (AmB) is currently considered as the first choice for treatment of visceral leishmaniasis, it is associated with some side effects. This study was designed to investigate the protective effects of vitamins A and E against amphotericin B-induced adverse effects in the kidney and liver of rat. Thirty male Wistar rats aged 7-8 weeks and weighing around 200 g were randomly divided into five groups, each one containing six rats.

is a very abundant organism bringing about diarrhoea in human beings. The focus of this analysis was the detection of assemblages in human stool specimens in Hamadan, west of Iran, as well as the association between obtained assemblages and clinical symptoms. Faecal samples of 4066 individuals admitted to the medical and health care facilities in Hamadan were inspected microscopically for the existence of cysts/trophozoites, and the clinical symptoms of the patients were recorded.

Acanthamoeba has 22 genotypes with the T4 genotype being the main causative agent of amoebic granulomatous encephalitis and keratitis. Because the molecular mechanisms of the immune defenses of neutrophils and macrophages against histoparasites are based on oxidative stress, parasites may rely on their antioxidant systems to preclude immune defenses. Therefore, understanding of the effect of oxidative stress on vital characteristics of Acanthamoeba castellanii (T4 genotype) and the antioxidant defense responses of Acanthamoeba to oxidative status will cast light on immune cell-parasite interactions.
