Noble metals such as gold (Au), zinc (Zn), and iron (Fe) are highly significant in both fundamental and technological contexts owing to their applications in optoelectronics, optical coatings, transparent coatings, photodetectors, light-emitting devices, photovoltaics, nanotechnology, batteries, and thermal barrier coatings. This study presents a comprehensive investigation of the optoelectronic properties of Fe(111) and Au, Zn/Fe(111) materials using density functional theory (DFT) first-principles method with a focus on both materials' spin orientations. The optoelectronic properties were obtained employing the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) approach, integrating the exchange-correlation function with the Hubbard potential U for improved accuracy.

Fetiform teratoma, also recognized as a homunculus, is a largely uncommon form of mature cystic teratoma. Here, we present the case of a 17-year-old single female who presented to the emergency department complaining of abdominal distension and pain for four months. Abdominal examination revealed a left-sided mass.

Background: Surfactant protein C dysfunction is one of the causes of childhood interstitial lung disease but has not previously been reported in Arabian countries.

Case Presentation: A six-year-old girl had presented at the age of eight months old with bronchiolitis followed by a persistent cough, dyspnea and hypoxaemia. She was found to have gastroesophageal reflux disease, but her symptoms did not resolve despite her therapy being optimised.

Background: This comparative study calculated Bethe-Bloch results with Bichsel-Sternheimer values, employing the Bland-Altman analysis within 95% limit of agreement for the first time. The Bethe-Bloch formula was employed for the physical realization of the density-dependent energy loss of protons in lead (Pb) and beryllium (Be) targets in the energy range 1-12 MeV.

Methods: The mass-stopping power of protons for the given elements was calculated and the corresponding normalized difference and standard deviation was also calculated.

Subject: Participants had type 2 diabetes, were on stable medication regimens, had HbA levels between 7% and <9%, retained at least 16 natural teeth, and had untreated chronic periodontitis. A total of 514 participants were enrolled between November 2009 and March 2012 from diabetes and dental clinics and communities affiliated with five participating academic medical centers. They were randomized with half ( = 257) allocated to a treatment group and the other half ( = 257) to a control group.

Objectives: Serum C-reactive protein (CRP) has been shown to be a risk predictor for cardiovascular disease. Periodontal treatment reduces elevated CRP levels. The aim of this pilot investigation was to evaluate if dental implants placed after extractions in patients with end-stage periodontitis affect the serum CRP levels.
