- The study evaluated the hepatic steatosis index (HSI) as a non-invasive method for diagnosing and predicting nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) compared to abdominal ultrasound, which is considered the standard tool.
- Among 464 participants, 32.33% were diagnosed with fatty liver, with most being female, and significant increases in liver enzyme levels (ALT, AST, ALP) were noted in NAFLD patients versus controls.
- The HSI showed promising results with an AUC of 0.833 for detecting NAFLD, indicating a good level of accuracy, especially at a cutoff of > 36.0, where it demonstrated high sensitivity and moderate specificity.

This study aimed to investigate the association of MetS and metabolic phenotypes with a high carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) in early adulthood.
Methods: MetS was defined as proposed by Cook, de Ferranti, the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP), and the pediatric International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

In this study, we study the distribution and other CT scan characteristics of mediastinal lymphadenopathy in childhood tuberculosis.
Methods: Chest CT scans of 75 cases of pediatric tuberculosis at Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran, Iran, from 2009 to 2013 were studied regarding characteristics of mediastinal lymphadenopathy.
Objective/background: Most tuberculosis cases in children are primary infection, with difficult and imprecise diagnosis mainly based on the existence of mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Here, we investigated the characteristics of mediastinal lymphadenopathy in lung computed tomography (CT) scans of children with tuberculosis.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 75 children with tuberculosis referred to Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran, Iran, from 2009 to 2013.
