Cerebral Hydatidosis in a Lamb.

A 6-month-old Afshari male lamb was examined on a semi-intensive farm due to anorexia and neurologic signs, including head tilt, circling, bilateral positive menace response and stupor. The sheep was slaughtered and necropsied. After routine parasitology and histopathology procedures, the occurrence of cerebral hydatidosis was confirmed.

A rare case of Cysticercus tenuicollis infection in a neonate lamb: Evidence of prenatal transmission.

Cysticercosis develops in lambs following a Cysticercus tenuicollis infestation, which is the larval stage of Taenia hydatigena. A 7-day-old lamb was examined for depression, anorexia, fever (40.5°C), congested mucus membranes, reluctance to move, and a hunched back.

Superficial digital flexor tendon (SDFT) plays an important role in the locomotion of the horses with flexion of the limbs. In the hind limb, it passes over the calcaneal bone and attaches to medial and lateral surfaces of calcaneous by two bands of connective tissue; while, the medial band is weaker than the lateral one. Occasionally, severe trauma, over-extension or fracture of the calcaneous may cause rupture of the supportive bands leading to tendon luxation.
