Antibiotic-associated encephalopathy (AAE) is a relatively uncommon adverse drug event, mostly encountered in hospitalized patients undergoing intravenous antibiotic treatment. A typical case is reported and the literature is reviewed. Most antibiotic drugs have been implicated in the pathogenesis.
