Photodetectors (PDs) play a crucial role in imaging, sensing, communication systems, etc. Graphene (Gr), a leading two-dimensional material, has demonstrated significant potential for photodetection in recent years. However, its relatively weak interaction with light poses challenges for practical applications.

Atmospheric nitrogen deposition can alter soil microbial communities and further impact the structure and function of forest ecosystems. However, most studies are focused on positive or negative effects after nitrogen addition, and few studies pay attention to its interruption. In order to investigate whether interruption after different levels of short-term N additions still benefit soil health, we conducted a 2-year interruption after a 4-year short-term nitrogen addition (10 and 20 kg N·hm·yr) experiment; then, we compared soil microbial diversity and structure and analyzed soil physicochemical properties and their correlations before and after the interruption in forest soil in northeast China.

Article Synopsis
  • - Neonatal deaths and stillbirths are critical health issues in Pakistan, particularly in Rehri Goth, where high rates (43 stillbirths and 46 neonatal deaths per 1,000 births) are attributed to poor healthcare access and extreme poverty.
  • - A mixed-method study conducted from May 2014 to June 2018 used the Verbal and Social Autopsy (VASA) tool to analyze the causes of these deaths through interviews with mothers and caregivers, along with medical records when available.
  • - Key findings revealed that the main causes for stillbirths included pregnancy-induced hypertension and obstructed labor, while neonatal deaths were largely due to perinatal asphyxia and complications from preterm birth.

Introduction: Armed conflicts have a severe impact on the health of women and children. Global health emergencies such as pandemics and disease outbreaks further exacerbate the challenges faced by vulnerable populations in accessing maternal, neonatal, and child healthcare (MNCH). There is a lack of evidence that summarizes the challenges faced by conflict-affected pregnant women, mothers, and children in accessing MNCH services during global health emergencies, mainly the Ebola and COVID-19 pandemics.

Extreme winds are becoming more common among environmental events with the most catastrophic societal consequences. A regional frequency analysis of Daily Annual Maximum Wind Speed (DAMWS) is necessary not only for a comprehensive understanding of wind hazards but also for infrastructure design and safety, wind energy potential, disaster risk reduction, insurance and risk assessment in a particular region of study. This study investigated regional frequency analysis of DAMWS of Baluchistan and Sindh provinces of Pakistan.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a complex metabolic disease primarily associated with elevated blood glucose levels in the body. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is the most feared acute presentation of diabetes mellitus (DM) in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (EDKA) is a relatively rare complication of DM in which the blood glucose levels are usually less than 250 mg/dl with an elevated anion gap metabolic acidosis.
