Robotic-assisted bronchoscopy (RAB) was recently added to the armamentarium of tools used in sampling peripheral lung nodules. Protocols and guidelines have since been published advocating use of large oral artificial airways, use of confirmatory technologies such as radial endobronchial ultrasound (R-EBUS), and preferably limiting sampling to pulmonary parenchymal lesions. We present three clinical cases where RAB was used unconventionally to sample pulmonary nodules in unusual locations and in patients with challenging airway anatomy.

To overcome this issue, we propose a new endovascular approach called the "tightrope" technique. This technique uses a stiff guidewire and a standard angiographic catheter to straighten the internal carotid artery (ICA) tortuosity, allowing the guiding catheter to be positioned next to the intracranial level.

The purpose of this article was to compare the frequency and severity of pneumonia on chest CT in patients with confirmed COVID-19 between patients who are unvaccinated and those who are fully vaccinated by messenger RNA (mRNA) or adenovirus vector vaccines. This retrospective single-center study included 467 patients (250 men, 217 women; mean age, 65 ± 17 [SD] years) who underwent chest CT between December 15, 2021, and February 18, 2022, during hospitalization for symptomatic COVID-19, confirmed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction assay.

Methods: This retrospective study included consecutive symptomatic patients who underwent chest CT and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) from March 2020 to May 2020 for suspected COVID-19. Twelve readers with different levels of expertise independently scored each CT using the CO-RADS scheme for detecting pulmonary involvement by COVID-19.
We describe the case of a 54-year-old woman, previously submitted to nephrectomy for sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma and treated with antibiotics because of central venous catheter infection. An F-FDG PET/CT scan was obtained that demonstrated bone and lymph node metastases and also disclosed an irregular area of highly increased uptake (SUVmax 19.4) in the right atrium.

We hereby describe a case of an adolescent male tested positive for COVID-19 with mild respiratory symptoms and presenting with pneumomediastinum as the only CT finding.

Although these devices were developed for use in intracranial circulation, FDS could be employed to treat aneurysms regardless of their location, when anatomic factors may limit the efficacy of classic endovascular techniques. The objective of this study is to describe the initial experience of a single center in the treatment of visceral artery aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms (VAA-VAP) with cerebral FDS, analyzing safety, efficacy and 1-year outcome.

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and the efficacy of percutaneous pharmaco-mechanical thrombectomy (PPMT) of acute superior mesenteric vein (SMV) thrombosis.
Methods: A database of patients treated between 2011 and 2018 with acute venous mesenteric ischemia (VMI) was reviewed. VMI was diagnosed in the presence of SMV thrombosis and CT evidence of jejunal thickening.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness and safety of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in debulking benign solid thyroid nodules.
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective review of 77 patients with predominantly solid thyroid nodules treated with RFA in a single center between 2013 and 2016. All patients declined or were not eligible for surgery.

Objective: This is a retrospective study on Pharmacomechanical Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis (PCDT) in the treatment of acute iliofemoral Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
Patients And Methods: From March 2013 to November 2016, 22 patients (26 limbs), median age 46.7 years with acute (<21 days) extensive iliofemoral DVT underwent Percutaneous Mechanical Thrombectomy (PMT) with Aspirex (Straub Medical, Wangs, Switzerland), followed by Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis (CDT).
Purpose: The safety of liquid embolics over the conventional coils for the treatment of non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) approach is still unclear. Purpose of this study is to assess the safety of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH 6%) over coils in the treatment of UGIB.
Materials And Methods: All the upper gastrointestinal tract embolization procedures performed in a single center in a 6-year period were reviewed.
Objective: To investigate clinicopathological, bacteriological and pathological aspects of an experimental infection with Yersinia pseudotuberculosis (Y. pseudotuberculosis) in hares to verify the efficacy of serology for the in vivo diagnosis. Moreover, the pathogenicity of two Y.

Ixodes ricinus (4431 larvae, 597 nymphs and 12 adults) and Haemaphysalis punctata (11,209 larvae, 313 nymphs, and 25 adults) were the most abundant species, followed by Haemaphysalis sulcata (20 larvae, five nymphs, and 13 adults), Dermacentor marginatus (42 larvae and two adults) and Ixodes hexagonus (one nymph). Greatest numbers of ticks were collected at locations characterised by southern exposure and limestone substratum, at altitudes <1400 m asl; I.

A total of 96 samples were collected, 55 of which from wild mouflons and 41 from captive mouflons. On these faecal samples qualitative and quantitative parasitological analyses were performed; moreover, faecal cultures were made in order to identify the involved Eimeria species.

Metal self-expanding or silicone stents allow to obtain stable results. Our experience is based on the use of 14 stents (10 Dumon and 4 Wallstent) in 13 cases of stenosis either due to vegetating malignant tumours not amenable to surgery or benign stenosis.
